Hi all,
I guess this is a bit minor, but yesterday as I opened yoshimi I noticed
some oddity in the 'upper' banks and realised that the zynaddsubfx ones
where shown instead of the usual yoshimi factory banks.
I usually don't install yoshimi ad just run the git version which I can
update when something comes up... so I also tried installing from AUR
and the bank roots were still the same although
/usr/share/yoshimi/banks/ had correctly been installed..
Essentially my ~/.config/yoshimi/yoshimi.banks contained both
/usr/share/zynaddsubfx/banks/ and the ./banks directory in the path
where I compile and run yoshimi-git from.
So... the mystery is: 'what' set the zynaddsubfx dir as the first entry
for roots in the yoshimi file as I have never done it manually?!
I'm sure this mystery will leave you all sleepless for nights :)
Lorenzo.
As the estate agent would say: Location, Location, Location.
If the Zyn banks were in /usr/share/ and the Yoshi ones in /usr/local/share, or
your home directory, then Yoshimi will find them first. Also, version changes
that affect the config setup can force Yoshi to start again - this shouldn't
happen after V 1.5.0
At some point I want to make some changes here (round tuit time) so that Yoshi
is more picky about roots and banks it hasn't seen before, and puts them after
known ones - otherwise it could upset your carefully crafted order.
Normally, making new entries *through* yoshimi will never change existing ones.
