I was also going to make a remark comparing the British snow situation to
our own 1.1m (packed), but after looking at a BBC report I realize you are
actually getting a significant amount over there!
The problem we have is that our weather is so variable, it's extremely
difficult to plan for it.
We should always have much colder winters than we do, that's because we're
pretty far North, but our prevailing wind is from the SouthWest, and the air is
warmed by the North Atlantic current. However, We've had winds from the
East lately and that makes our temperatures nose-dive.
