loss on what steps to take next, or even how to track this problem down.
OK, Ubuntu is based on debian, which is helpful.
In Yoshimi's unpacked directory there is a file called 'Dependencies'. Normally
I advise people to use Synaptic to install these. I've not used Ubunty formany
years and don't know if it still has Synaptic. This usefully shows when
something has actually been installed.
If anything is not getting installed then it's really a Ubuntu issue and I
don't know what help I can give - there may be others here more familiar with
Ubuntu.
I only mention zlib being different as it's identified differently in
CMakeLists.txt and puzzles some people.
As a matter of interest, the two later versions of Ubuntu carry Yoshimi 1.4.0
and 1.4.1 respectively.
