I have just come off the phone having twice tried to obtain a number for Action for Blind People in Birmingham. On neither occasion could they find the number listed, though i know the office exists with an address in Great Charles Street. One operator, the more helpful of the two I tried, said she thought that probably it wasn't a BT number, therefore it didn't come up in the listings. Is this true? Since when has BT 195 enquiries been so sectarian? Would anyone else with a BT connection care to try their luck and see if they come up with the same result as I did? In the meantime off to find the number on the internet. I don't keep my computer on 247 these days, and didn't want to turn it on until later, but with this sort of unco-operativeness I don't see I had much choice really.
