I've seen JAWS run in XP mode on a customer PC but I personally wouldn't
recommend it really. The problem I saw was that you must unload the JAWS on
the host machine before launching JAWS on the virtual machine, otherwise things
get a weird. I don't know why it should think it is in a remote session though.

Interesting tip about the VMWare player though.

Hi Tristram and all.
I just want to say that the last time I tried JAWS in Windows XP Mode,
it simply wouldn't run, because it claims that the application is not
authorized to run in a terminal session. What happens is that you are
not in an actual terminal session, however Virtual PC causes a behaviour
that is similar to a terminal session, hence JAWS apparently getting
confused. The workaround is to run XP Mode in a program like VMware
Player, a free virtualization solution that supports Windows XP Mode, as
well as the ability to create and run your own virtual machines. JAWS
works fine on all Windows guests, apart from Vista and 7 and their
server counterparts. The JAWS Mirror Driver conflicts with the VMware
SVGA graphics adaptor, causing a blue screen and a general crashing of
the guest operating system.
Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to share my experiences.
Take care.
