Unfortunately we have entered the age of quantity over and above quality
and as for the assistant making an assumption that your being blind was
the cause, that is a cop out on their part because the assertion cannot
be proven or disproved without someone actually having been present to
witness the situation you describe. it does sound to me that the
armature has been poorly calibrated.
