Hi David, You would think that if a movie has Ad in the cinema then it would when released on dvd however as you've discovered this is not automatically the case. I'm sure there are reasons for this in terms of different distributors etc for the dvd and the movie but well it's just another case of us getting so near and yet so far what we really want.. Our solution has been to subscribe to www.lovefilm.com as you can list the titles they have by whether they have ad or not but I know that's simply a workaround. What's even more annoying is that as far as I'm aware although the likes of The matrix trilogy and Lord of the Rings were released on ad video when they came out on DVD there was no ad - again I'm sure there's a reason but it's darned frustrating to say the least. Hey ho, not much we can do about it at present I guess. Org Subject: [access-uk] AD on DVD Can anyone tell me whether some dvd titles are released both with and without AD, i.e. two separate versions? I ask because a friend of mine saw the film "atonement" at the cinema and it had an AD track. knowing the film was now out in dvd, today I trotted down to my local Tesco and purchased it. Sadly, it does not appear to have an AD track. I can watch the film in italian, hear the Director droning on for hours about each individual camera shot, but no audio description. I rather assumed that if a film had AD in the cinema it would have AD on the dvd, or are there AD and non-AD versions of the dvd? This is all turning out to be rather more complicated than I anticipated.
