Hello Pele, You have to turn things off in two different areas: 1. Launch the AVG Control Centre from the File menu and then, in mouse mode, go to near the bottom of the screen to a "Properties" button and left click on it. Now in the "Properties" sheet TAB to and check off "Scan Email Files". 2. Now launch the AVG Control Centre again from the File menu and, in mouse mode, come down the screen to the section where you are told things like resident shield is loaded and fully functional, to where you are given e-mail status and, when over the word "Email" right click to open a Context Menu with "Activate" and "Properties" on it. Press ENTER on the "properties" option and you will come onto an installed prlugins page. This should show your Personal Email scanning details. TAB to "configure" and press ENTER and then in here TAB to and check off scanning of outgoing mail. You can also check off scanning of incoming mail if you like but I haven't found this to be necessary. Just exit via the "OK" buttons now. HTH, John. Where does one go to turn the e-mail scanner off? I have tried to uncheck it in the Components section but that did not work. Any thoughts?
