It is more fundamental than that as their bus websites are just as poor. It is certainly worth raising websites though and I will do it in any way I have time to do.

Thank you also for taking the time to review the site. As I mentioned in my response to Steve; regardless of whether or not First Capital Connect is a member of First Group, until only recently their site was not as accessible as it is today.

FYI - The only content of the site that was within the access of a screen reader was the announcement " From 1 April First Capital Connect had taken over the Thameslink franchise..." The navigation and links that allow further useability of the site were completely inaccessible, and whereas you may feel that they could do a lot better at this time, it is encouraging to have views from members of the group to the fact that on the whole the site is accessible.

A Train Operating Company that obviously listens and takes concerns of its visually impaired consumers seriously. As far as Silverlink,Midland mainline, and Central Trains, if the same course of action isn't persued through a direct complaint To David Sindell at ATOC are we not to expect anything other than complacency?

I agree with Steve's comments below, but have taken a look anyway. I would say that the site is perfectly accessible. However, I think it is a rather disapointing effort for a company like First Group, who are the most access aware of the big transport providers by a very long way. I'm not sure what you do want on their website though as it tells you what you need to know. They are not providing any services through it that cannot be accessed because of our visual impairment.

I personally dislike messages like this one, they are too vague. Why have you brought up this web site in particular? Taking a brief look at it with
Window-Eyes and IE 7, it is perfectly accessible, even to the point of
altering font size, text size, etc, so they have obviously made some effort.
What prompted you to "look" at it, and have these debates?

What would be more interesting, is if you told us, if anything, the bits you felt were not accessible, so we could look at those. Just saying can you look at a web site for accessibility, is not that useful, since there are
probably hundreds of links on a web site such as this one.  Or are you
asking about the timetable functions, which I haven't looked at?
