In its earlier days I believe there were delays in supply because of the Japanese earthquake. There may be another delay now until you can walk out of the shop with a Pro supplied with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which is supposed to be happening in April. One Android list is the Google Eyes-Free list. eyes-free+subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Warning: high volume list, and how! I like the mini but for some reason I think it is too small not sure why. It would appear that the pro only came out in the autume so cannot believe it is discontinued already? Can anyone offer any clarity on this please. Also can someone provide the joining mail for the Android Accessability list please Many thanks Colin -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Debbie Palmer Sent: 22 February 2012 17:31 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Android Accessability Hi Colin The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is readily available which runs the latest Android operating system ICS Android 4.0. This phone is VI accessible straight out of the box. Many other Android phones will be receiving the ICS update in the next few months including the Sony Experia Pro and Mini Pro which I have. These two phones also have hardware keyboards unlike the Samsung Galaxy Nexus I happily use the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro with gingerbread (android 2.3). I use mobile Accessibility which is available from Code Factory. There are also two free screen readers on the Android operating system Spiel and talkback which are free to download from the Android Market and are very good. I can put it off for a couple of months as I recall mention of an upgrade coming to I think Android accessability in early summer. I am not interested in I phones and currently still use an N86 and know I have to move on at some point. Did I dream this upgrade / launch or can anyone give me further details.
