[access-uk] Another Audacity question!

Hi David or anyone else who can help. Your help was invaluable before
David, I've now gotten off the ground and able to multi track on Audacity
but I'm banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to select
parts of a track to delete or apply some effects to. I'm really getting a
bit frustrated now smiles.
I've looked at the jaws guide and I seem to follow the instructions but I'm
deleting the whole content of the track and not just the bit I want.
I also am trying to find out how to adjust the individual level of the
tracks.
Any help would be gratefully received! Smiles
