others will know more than me I am sure on this one but, firstly, are you using the drivers that came with it or the support provided by windows XP? I believe the XP without drivers does not support audio. you also need to pair the device according to information given in the instruction manual which probably includes a code that needs to be entered at the PC end during the pairing process.
