Hi. Despite all Clive says here, long live Talks. It is nice to have an off-the-shelf phone, which is tried and tested, by people who know how to make mobile phones, such as Nokia, not people who try to make specialist phones. Just my opinion, of course. All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. I will be sending it back tomorrow. Also, Paul porter from RNIB phoned me and said that there are bugs in the phone, especially when setting up voicemail and calling numbers. the speech stops working and it is necessary to press the volume up button to restore it. I couldn't even do this! He said I am not the only one to experience problems and advised me to return it either for refund or replacement. I pointed out that we should have been told about this before, being a high-priced item and having to pay for it up front. He came back and said there is no guarantee the next phone I get is problem-free. I will keep trying, as much for others as myself, who don't want to have a phone with a load of gizmos, even if one can access it with TALKS. and yes, my Braille instructions for the Owasys phone arrived today. I will keep you posted of my progress.
