Carol,

What is the weight and value of what you want to ship and
insure?

Royal Mail Special Delivery by Noon the next day, is £20.35
for 10 Kilos, and can be insured for up to £10,000 for an
additional £3.15.

See the Postal Calculator at:-
 http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/home/ for more details.

City Interlink, a regular carrier, is actually cheaper, and
all our shipments via them are insured for up to £15,000.

George.

Hi Derek,

That's true for Parcel Force but their insurance of an
expensive item is too much. I understand their top
insurance is for £2500 and this would cost £50.

Yes but I i think that only applies for the free post
service under the articles for blind rules.

I doubt mail to be sent "special delivery" can be picked up.

Anyway, just to add to the confusion, <smile> one could
use parcel
force
the cost of sending covers the pick up.
I always use parcel force when I send kit for repairs.
The cost is about £20 (if under 10kg) which covers pick up
at time of your choice, delivery by 12:00 next working day.
One can pay cash to driverm by cheque, or over the phone
with card. Regards, Derek
