On the comression, no, no, never, please no no never! Performance suffers if you do this, because of the extra activity of backround de-compressing so files can be accessed. Secondly ty the cleanup products out there. Crap Cleaner named C Cleaner is a nice utility for cleaning up unwanted and unnecessary files. Also do the usal add/remove to see what you can clear up in there. Turn of hibernation in control panel/power management, under the hibernation tab. S'sis all i can think of for now. Oh also look for partial files. Left over from unfinished downloads from peer to peer software. Sometimes these pre-allocate free space on your hard drive, for when the files completed. Hi, should I compress my drive to save disk space? Or is that an accessibility nightmare? I have no idea why I seem to have filled up all 55 gigs on my hard disk. I just don't seem to have loaded up enough and need tips too!
