Ari, stuff TrendMicro and get AVG Free instead. I appreciate Asda gave it you for free bla bla bla, but AVG Free is completely accessible; even the threat found boxes are accessible with the major screen readers. Just my two pence worth.

Subject: [access-uk] Dangerous TrendMicro problem

Hi guys,
I really have to consider another security program, and this is just to warn other people about a very dangerous accessibility problem with TrendMicro and JFW, I really wish I knew if anyone else has this problem. It is the new Trendmicro. What happens is, I've noticed that when it finds a virus, not while you're doing a normal scan, but when it scans in the background, I noticed a window which I could alttab past, but JAWS wouldn't say anything, it was sort of just silent. When I didn't know what the window was, I routed the cursors and tried to read it, but JAWS just read surrounding windows. It was only when my brother saw this window, that he told me it was a virus warning, and it was only when he clicked on something that JAWS spoke the window a bit, but even then, the program was pathetic in dealing with the virus, because although my brother and I chose delete the file, for some unknown reason it said that it couldn't delete the file and that we had to delete it mannually. I still can't understand why it supposedly couldn't delete the file, because it was just a zipped file that I was very lucky I didn't run, but to move and use it with JAWS, I think only Steganos has been worse. I've always been saying I'll try something else, it's just that Absa gives us Trendmicro free because of internet banking.
