Way back in the 1990s I selected Demon as my first ISP for that very reason.  
Joe Paton 
(Apart Consultancy) patiently guided my efforts to establish a connection, send 
and receive 
e-mail etc., a service I much appreciated although I ultimately moved away from 
Demon 
largely for cost reasons.
