Clive -

you can read up on the Kindle at:

www.amazon.co.uk

The Kindle eBook reader I think is £109

You can get the software Kindle for PC for free.

From a blind person's perspective, I'm not very impressed with the speech
quality be it on the Kindle device, or running the software on the computer.

As far as the device is concerned, not all available books have TTS enabled, so
you have to look for that when buying an eBook. If using the software on the
computer however, then all ebooks are available to listen to.

Hope that gets you started -

Andy

  Hello Julie,
I've seen a lot of posts about Kindle on here, but haven't tried it. Is there
anyone out there who wants to give me an "idiot's guide"? Basically, where do
you get it, how much does it cost, how do you use it, and what are its benefits
and limitations?

  Thanks,
  Clive

  Hi

Some of Amazon's kindle books have text to speech enabled.
  Cheers
