[access-uk] Re: Ethics of book sharing services

Bookshare works on the premise that it's an agency that provides books
to people who are registered visually impaired. I think it doesn't
really matter who scanned the texts.

Or rather, that's how a bookshare would work in the UK. I understand
there is a subtle difference in the law between Britain and the US on
this matter.

I don't know, I sort of assumed this because of book share. After all
private people scanned those books before uploading them to book share,
yes? Also, I am from America and it is my understanding you guys can't
use book share. If what you say is the truth then it seems to me you
should do what you can to change the laws over there. You had a blind
guy in government who was pretty high up there who could have helped
with issues such as these it seems to me. On the other hand, if he had
been more interested in issues concerning the blind community and had
taken better care of his personal life he might not have been
disgraced.
