pete, you need to cut and paste that URL into a podcatcher program such as iTunes or iPodder. downloading the XML file is, well, just like saving a web page. Neither will play like MP3 files.

If you take a quick squiz at the XML code you'll see it references an MP3 though.

Podcasters give out the XML or feed URL so that you can add it to your subscription list of podcasts in a podcatcher program. I've not looked at Steve's site yet, most podcasters also give a link so that you can download the MP3 itself directly as a one-off rather than taking the XML URL which, once added to a podcatcher, effectively bookmarks the podcast forever and will automatically download the latest version of Steve's podcast show onto your hard disk every time it is updated.

Steve, I pointed my podcatcher to w.comproom.co.uk/ourplace/ourplace.xml.
And downloaded an xml file. That file did not open on any mp3 player, it
opened in IE and looked like  as you see below. I have juice installed.
