Thanks Ron and Jon, ron, Absolute Radio only do commentary on the 3 O'clock
kick off and will never have a United commentary as that one will always be
on 5live. I'm pretty sure that the World Service commentary is the same one
as is broadcast on 5live, so if they aren't covering it, it won't be on.

Jon, I don't think United commentaries are taken on that site as United has
its own radio service.
Cheers

Yusuf, why nit write to Sir Alex and ask him. Another idea is absolute
radio
and the World Service usually takes in the second half.

Thanks to everyone's suggestions on this. Andy's right I was looking for
commentary on United's games when they are only broadcast nationally on
Talk
Sport as I can't stand their commentary.

I tried BBC Manchester, but they weren't allowed to broadcast online and
so
weren't broadcasting through OOTunes on my IPhone. I also tried Key103,
who
used to broadcast United's games but they either aren't doing them anymore
or like BBC Manchester weren't allowed to make them available online.

I may have to bite the bullet and pay for a MU TV subscription and get the
radio commentary that way. As I recall though it wasn't terribly
accessible
and I'm not sure they've got a way of accessing the commentary from a
portable device.

One of the football apps suggested is supposed to be getting commentary
soon, but hasn't yet. I also read some comments suggesting that some of
the
most important info wasn't accessible. This included scores.

Any other ideas? I'm absolutely amazed that United haven't got an IPhone
app
of their own, its unlike them not to make the most of getting as much
money
out of the fans as they can. LOL.

Hi Jackie -

Yusuf was asking about live commentaries, Tune-In only delivers what is
already available on-line, and apart from Talk Sport, 5Live, 5Live Sports
Extra, and Absolute Radio Extra, no other stations that I know of have
permission to broadcast premier league games. This is apart of course
from
my most wonderful Manchester City, who allow BBC Manchester commentaries
on their website, even though they are not allowed on BBC Manchester's
own
website.

So, any body supporting a prem team can get two free commentaries a
season
by going to:

www.mcfc.co.uk

bear in mind however that JFW earlier than version 12, can not see the
listen button on the webpage, JFW12 and System Access can though -

Hi Yusuf

Then I would recommend Tune In Radio for around 59p. I use it all the
time
for stations you can't pick up on the Sky or Freeview boxes, for
example.
As for DAB, well I can't get that here anyway.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi, I'm just wondering what people are doing to listen to football
commentaries either on their IPhones or on their PCs. I can't stand Talk
Sport and they are doing United's commentary this evening and I'm trying
to
find a way of listening to the match without listening to Talk Sport or
subscribing to MU TV.
