Thanks Barbara and Ibraham, It is an old phone, it's a Nokia N73, which isn't that old but it will be fine to receive calls on while I'm there and to send text messages, as I say I'll take my U.K. phone to keep in touch with people over here because I have international roaming on the phoneanyway but using a mobile in S.A. is pretty expensive but at least my South African friends can phone me on it but I may go into Vodaphon then tomorrowto have it unlocked, does it take long? Personally, I never think these really work perfectly. For proper unlocking I would take your phone to the original network to which it islocked. It will cost a bit more and invalidate your warranty if it is stillunder one, but it will be done properly.
