Hello Barry,
thank you for your helpful posting. there is no fear of the drive
getting hot, the USB connection times out after a few seconds and I
cannot access the drive at all. I have found the solution. The
manual mentions known issues with notebooks and IBM PC's where not
enough power is supplied to the drive through the USB port and an
optional power cable is recommended. I will contact Baby USB Ltd who
sell the drive and purchase one.
