Yes, you are correct, I do mean Siri at this time.
I followed the process below to make a call.
Press and hold the home key.
After about a second there was a beep.
I would then say something like "call gary Hinton mobile" and my phone would
ring my friend's mobile phone.
Now the beep no longer happens and the process is halted.
To make a txt message the process used to be:
Press and hold down the home key.
After a second or so the phone would beep.
I would then say "txt gary Hinton mobile".
Then Siri would say "what do you want to say?
I would then say what it was I wanted in that txt message.
The txt would then be sent.
Now, the beep no longer happens and the process is halted.
From what you have said, it may be a specific issue with the iPhone 6, as
this is a different phone to the models you have.
