Thanks, Martin, that confirms what I thought. I'll give it a go once I've
coaxed Jaws into behaving itself.

Hi, definitely driver then scanner, and if it's an Epson perfection v300,
remember the scanner will turn itself off if unplugged, so you need to plug
in, switch the scanner on, then plug in the USB. Hth.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Subject: [access-uk] Installing an Epson Scanner Under XP

Hello,

My work laptop has had to be re-built as it had all sorts of problems which
were eventually tracked down to a failing hard drive. I have re-installed
Jaws and although it isn't working properly yet, I'm hoping it will soon be
fixed. I do have an Epson scanner which will need to be re-installed as
well, but it's such a long time since I've had to install scanner drivers
that I've forgotten whether you have to plug in the scanner first and then
insert the driver disk or do it the other way round. I'm almost sure the
driver needs to be installed before the scanner but would rather get it
right first time if possible.

Thanks for any help,

Caroline.
