Hi George, Ibrahim is right by saying it all depends on the tarrif you chose with Vodaphone. I wanted a tarrif where I can call cheaper when abroad since family and friends live their. I understand the same is possible for internet rates. I gather vodaphone will be able to tell you more about this and also I've just received a text message that roaming charges are about to drop from july maybe that'll work for internet too? I'll let you know, when I know more, Best wishes, madleen -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ibrahim Gucukoglu Sent: 26 June 2009 14:40 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Laptop Internet Access while abroad. Hi George. It all depends on the mobile broadband package your wife has taken out with Vodafone. Is it one that allows for roaming? Is the network she'll be connecting to in Denmark 3G or HSDPA enabled? If the answer to those two questions above is yes, then there is no reason why she can't use her mobile dongle abroad although I should caution you that roaming costs can be quite expensive and are usually charged by the megabyte. It may also be worth investigating whether Vodafone have any partner networks in the country your travelling to; For instance, Three my own network of choice had a service where if you were in a three sister network in select countries, you could use your home data, calls and texts allowance including mobile broadband just as you would do at home. All the best and I hope the above helps you somewhat. ----- Original Message ----- From: George Bell <mailto:george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 26, 2009 2:18 PM Subject: [access-uk] Laptop Internet Access while abroad. I dare say this question will surprise the mobile phone experts, but here goes. My wife travels regularly to Denmark, and was sold a USB dongle by Vodafone which, she was assured would provide access abroad. Well it seems the sales person in the Northampton shop was about as bright as a toc h lamp. Head office assured my wife that this will not work outside the U.K. So what do you guys use with your laptops to access the internet and check mail when sitting on a train in a foreign country?
