Hi All A few days ago I went to buy a cable to link my Nokia 6600 to my computer and was told the shop didn't have a cable but a Bluetooth dongle would do exactly the same job. However, having installed the software on my computer, connected the Bluetooth dongle and tried to connect using the serial port connection through Quick Connect in the system tray:- A connection is made and I am prompted to accept it on the phone. I then get a dialog that says (Error connecting Bluetooth Serial Port connection with device Nokia 6600 and I have to choose OK. I then get an authorisation message up on my computer and the only thing I can do is click on it as it comes up in a balloon on the taskbar. I do that. If I do the same thing through My Blootooth Places I am told that "The Blootooth Serial Port connection failed. The connection could not be completed" I have also had another message saying that the connection failed because the phone terminated the connection. If I try connecting to the computer from the phone, I'm told that the computer does not support handheld devices, or something like that. I've also seen a message in the Serial Port properties on the computer that says that the device needs to be configured to use the same COM port that the Serial Port is on - but I don't know how I know what my phone is configured for. Having spoken to a friend about this, she said that she had tried a couple of Bluetooth dongles that worked once and never again, and similarly a cable that was actually supplied with her phone. She bought another Bluetooth dongle from PC World which has worked perfectly, although she doesn't know what she did differently and certainly couldn't do it again!!! Any ideas gratefully received!!!
