Hi Mark I've taken a few days to reply to your message because as soon as I posted my original question my e-mail went down for the next few days so I've had to go on to the Freelists website and find any follow-up messages. I'm running PC Suite 1.0.0. From reading the Readme file in PC Suite, there is a section on known issues. It mentions a TDK Bluetooth adaptor, which isn't what I've got, but a couple of the error messages that are talked about are the same. These are: 1. "The Bluetooth serial port connection failed: The remote device closed the connection". It says that this error message can be ignored as the connection between the phone and the PC is established. If I look at the status of the connection through "My Bluetooth Places", "My Device", and "Nokia 6600 Serial Port",, what is actually happening is the connection is established and has a good signal, but then the signal either drops to being so weak that it can't be seen on the status bar or it's completely dropped - I don't know - I think it's the latter. 2. "The Bluetooth serial port COM0 is now configured to connect the device <device name>. The Application that will use this connection must be configured to use COM0". It says this can be ignored. so, I have no idea where to go from here. However, having installed the software on my computer, connected the Bluetooth dongle and tried to connect using the serial port connection through Quick Connect in the system tray:- A connection is made and I am prompted to accept it on the phone. I then get a dialog that says (Error connecting Bluetooth Serial Port connection with device Nokia 6600 and I have to choose OK. I then get an authorisation message up on my computer and the only thing I can do is click on it as it comes up in a balloon on the taskbar. I do that. If I do the same thing through My Blootooth Places I am told that "The Blootooth Serial Port connection failed. The connection could not be completed" I have also had another message saying that the connection failed because the phone terminated the connection. If I try connecting to the computer from the phone, I'm told that the computer does not support handheld devices, or something like that. I've also seen a message in the Serial Port properties on the computer that says that the device needs to be configured to use the same COM port that the Serial Port is on - but I don't know how I know what my phone is configured for. Having spoken to a friend about this, she said that she had tried a couple of Bluetooth dongles that worked once and never again, and similarly a cable that was actually supplied with her phone. She bought another Bluetooth dongle from PC World which has worked perfectly, although she doesn't know what she did differently and certainly couldn't do it again!!! Any ideas gratefully received!!!
