I would consider one from panasonic. they are set up, or at least can be set
up so that as you move through messages you get one beep. when you get to
either end of the messages you get two beeps and can go no further. one
buttton cycles between 5 available folders and there are separate record,
stop, and delete buttons. to delete a message hold down the delete key twice.

My model, whose name I cannot remember anyway is now discontinued but the
nearest equivalent I can find is the RRQR160 which I have looked at briefly in
the shop. It sames to work in a similar way to mine but mine has a click step
wheel where this one has left and right arrow buttons. It costs about £40 and
my only criticism of it is that it is perhaps a little plasticky.

Cheers

Graham
This is smaller and more plasticky than the model I have. S

Hi all -

Just reposting the below again as I'm in pretty urgent need of a basic voice
recorder:

I'm looking for a basic [not too expensive] digital recorder, the kind that
will take notes or memos, no editing is required, just a strait forward gadget
with it's own speaker. Looking to buy on line if anybody can direct me to a
good site after recommending.

  Many thanks

  Andy
