I haven't seen the Stream, so obviously won't comment on its ability to play
MP3 files. But if it is as good as the Book Courier, then it should be fine.
The Book Courier was good quality, but the channels were round the other way,
and Ian rectified that by having a lead made that latched onto my headphones to
reverse them.
I have an Iriver for music which, to be honest, you would struggle to get now
as they are no longer being made. But I use my mobile phone for MP3, and I
think it's brill. Firstly, TALKS speaks all the song names, so that makes it
easy to find them. Secondly, I can create playlists on it, which makes
accessibility to my favourite tracks easier. And because I take my phone with
me when I'm out anyway, it serves a great purpose for music. Your music is
interrupted when you get a text message, or when someone rings you, and that is
useful.
When I rip CDs or download, I like the size to be 192.
The Milestone allows you to play MP3, but I personally don't like it for music
as there is a slight speed variation which is annoying. Also, it doesn't name
your files and folders according to their proper titles unless you voice them.
I'm sure others will give you more suggestions, but these are my thoughts that
might give you an idea.

I have recently purchased a Stream, and so far I am pleased with it. I am a
total beginner as regards audio etc. Could anyone advise whether the Stream
will be as good for listening to down-loaded music files etc as an MP3 machine?
If MP3 is preferred, then could you kindly recommend a machine which would be
user-friendly for a totally blind person.
