Hi James, I don't have the answer to your question, but have you tried Nod32 support? They are usually very quick and very helpful. I am not getting this problem on any of my three XP Pro boxes here, and I use Nod32 exclusively now. All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. When I have it enabled, I find that the "turn off Computer" dialogue box is very slow in appearing, takes 10-15 seconds. Does anyone know which specific files I would need to exclude from scanning to resolve this? obviously I don't want to caste the net too wide and increase the risk of virus infection. James
