Hi Steve

have tried Nod32 support and they are telling me it's my computer! that's a
reasonable suggestion since I never used to have this problem even while
running Nod32, but system restore, spyware and registry scans and
defragmentation have all failed to resolve it. So In the end I got a little
free utility called Wizmo from
http://www.grc.com/wizmo/wizmo.htm
which was publicised in an issue of Dean Martineau's newsletter. This thing
can shut down, restart etc without dealing with the Turn Off Computer window
so it's a good workaround. I will probably reformat the whole thing fromt he
recovery disk anyway in less than a month, when we reach the end of the
academic year, and then sit back and relax while three years worth of Windows
Updates are installed.

Thanks

James

  Hi James,

I don't have the answer to your question, but have you tried Nod32 support?
They are usually very quick and very helpful. I am not getting this problem on
any of my three XP Pro boxes here, and I use Nod32 exclusively now.

  All the best

    Hi all

I'm having an issue with the Nod32 file ssystem monitor. When I have it
enabled, I find that the "turn off Computer" dialogue box is very slow in
appearing, takes 10-15 seconds. Does anyone know which specific files I would
need to exclude from scanning to resolve this? obviously I don't want to caste
the net too wide and increase the risk of virus infection.

    James
