Thanks guys.  It just seems strange that this is what it does when the slide 
does the same thing as this lock.  I thought it might have a different use 
too.

Sorry to be a pain, but I've discovered that I can't use the Iplayer or the 
radio, read my list of photo's nor find out how to stop a tune playing in 
the music player.  Any tips?

I'm going to look at updating the Talks.  Perhaps that is the problem.

Small slide button on the left-hand side will lock/unlock the phone if you
wish.
