Hi Sue.

Excellent, I'm pleased to hear the problem is sorted. I personally use Abbyy's Fine Reader Pro 11 which among other things has a task oriented interface and one touch quick tasks for performing all the essential functions. You can for instance with a couple of keystrokes scan documents in to Word, create PDF files on the fly and convert PDF files in to Word or HTML documents, functions I use extensively. Of course you also have all the editing and zoning features you might need and the help system is fully comprehensive with a plethora of keyboard shortcuts on offer. If you want to give it a go, Abbyy offer a 30 day trial and I believe a promotion currently exists where you can buy in to the current version now and pay only 50% of the next version upgrade, something I've invested in. If you want to know more or you have any accessibility questions, please don't hesitate to ask me as I thoroughly recommend Fine Reader to anyone.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi again.

I appreciate your help.

The problem has now been solved.

When the serial number was read out, the letter O was read out instead of
zero.

Thanks again.

What scanning software are you using now if you don't mind me asking?

I used to use the document imaging software in Office 2003. It's
disappeared in later version of Microsoft Office I'm sorry to say.

I loved it, and found it very accessible with Jaws.

Sue.

Hi Sue.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I've used OmnyPage in the past but found
it less than accessible with JAWS.

All the best and good luck, Ibrahim.

Hi.

Thanks for your reply.

The software has only been installed once.

Looks like the next port of call is customer services as you suggest.

Sue.

Hi Sue.

Is it possible you've installed the product on more than the allowed number
of computers? I believe you get three installs and unless you uninstall the
program from a machine which is internet connected, the install count is not
refreshed. If you're still having problems then you should contact Nuance
customer support who will be able to reset the installation count. You are
correct in that the program wont let you proceed when installing if an
incorrect serial is entered, however activation is an extra validation
process which verifies the license code and its authenticity are genuine and
that the software is not being used on more than the allowed number of
seats.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi.

I have a friend who's having difficulty installing Omnipage 18.

The install works fine until it's time to activate the product. When she
gets to that point, she's told that the serial number is wrong, or could be
for a different version.

I'm not sure why this is, as you have to input the serial number before the
installation starts. Therefore it must be correct.

Can anyone help or give us any advice please?

I recently installed the same software myself, and had no problems in
activating the product at all.

Thanks.

Sue.
