Well it is a small square personal radio that fits in your hand. It comes
with a removable belt clip and takes one AAA battery. It is not a DAB
radio, as I said before, but has AM, FM, and something they call a weather
band, though I think this is just a continuation of FM.
All buttons are tactile, and there are individual presets you can use to
store favourite stations, 10 for FM, and five each for AM and the weather
band. Its earphones act as the aerial, but reception, least on FM, is
quite
good here.
It costs £26.99 from Amazon.
This radio would be really good for someone who just wants AM or FM on the
move with extremely tactile buttons.

In answer to your first question, the Roberts Play definitely has five
preset buttons on the radio which, when pressed and held in for a few
seconds, will store your favourite stations. Then you can press
whichever
one you have designated for that station to go directly to it.
As regards size and sound quality, the Play is thicker and slightly
bigger
than the Pure Move, but it is still a nice size to put in a suitcase for
travelling. The sound is not bad for a radio with one mono speaker. It
does everything I require.
If you didn't come across it in John Lewis, you can get it direct from
British Wireless for the Blind Fund for I think £60, or from Roberts
themselves.
As an aside to this thread, I have been sent a very basic AM/FM personal
radio made by Sony to review. It is not DAB, but all the buttons on it
are
very tactile. I was surprised manufacturers are still making AM/FM
radios,

We have now had chance to look at some DAB radios in Lewis's, albeit that
the first of two guys was pretty clueless and the second not too much

help. We did however glean that some radios have buttons to select which
preset you want to play, whilst others just select the presets and you

to work your way through them, until you're sure you've got the programme
you want. Anyway, the second of these options seemed a little unhelpful

us, so my question is addressed to those of you who have DAB/FM radios,
particularly the Roberts: Do you have a button that you can set so that

will always take you to that station, once you have set up the preset?
If you can answer that you do, my furhter questions are concerned with
size
of the radio and the quality of speaker. Would you take the radio you

on holiday, bearing in mind it's size and, in addition, how do you rate
the
sound that you're getting?
This will hopefully narrow down our selection.
Finally, apart from Roberts makes, has anyone got any other make/model
they
really like that does have individual presets and a good tone, without

too big to take away on holiday?
Oh, I particularly liked the Roberts UNO Logic (if that's the correct
spelling). We could not get a definitive answer about the setting up of
individual presets on this model but its tone was good and the zie just
right. If anyone knows it then please give us any information you can.
