Hi.

If you want a basic phone which has handsfree as well as an answering machine and comes in a twin configuration, i'd recommend:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5527777.htm

however, if you'd like a phone without answering machine and without handsfree, you could try:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5528972.htm

There is only £10 difference between the 2, the first one priced at £40 and the second one at £30. May seem a little expensive for a cordless phone, but certainly worth it as its quality kit by Panasonic. The answering machine can also be disabled on the first one, so if handsfree is a consideration i'd pourchase the one at £40 and just get rid of the answering machine.

Hope that helps someone.

Mo.

Hi BJ.

I'd recommend cordless phones made by Panasonic. Over the years, i've
tried BT, onetel, south western bell, and panasonic and have found
panasonic to be the best. You don't have to use the menus if you don't
want too, and its straight forward enough to use with buttons that are
easily accessible. They don't cost a lot either. Sound quality both on
ear peace and on loud is excellent. Argos should have some deals on at
the moment, if you'd like me to recommend a specific one let me know.

all the best,

Mo.

Hi folks,

We are looking to replace our old, battered, tired cordless land line
phone and could do with some advice. We flirted with the idea of
braving a highstreet chain, but decided to try here first. All we are
looking for is a no nonsense pair of handsets and base unit. No bells
and whistles, no address books,no menus to get lost in, just good
sound quality, uncluttered buttons and easy to use.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot,

BJ
