Hi Debbie, Tricky to measure cartridge life really. Suffice to say that while I'm grumpy about the amount we spend on ink as a company, when I look back at what we have printed, I'd say it was as good as any. I don't recall having left mine alone for more than 3-4 days, but to be honest, it's wise to print something at least once a week, even if it's only the Windows printer test page. I do know that the Brother printer we have at home very definitely requires this.
