Found the following on the Applevis site re InDaisy, hope you aren't too
disappointed Carol, and let us know how you get on.
"My comments related to this app are less than kind, but I need to qualify
that by saying choices are limited and nobody is doing exactly what I want
to see with this type of app.
My experience with the app is colored by a series of exchanges with the
developer related to the Daisy 3 compatibility mentioned on the web site and
in iTunes.
I use APH's Book Wizard Producer to build audio only books that play back
perfectly on all the major hardware players including the NLS machines. The
builds I do are not protected so this is not a DRM issue. I asked the
Levelware folks in an email message if they supported daisy 3 audio only.
They responded yes.
However in the quoted section from a reply below it is interesting to note
the reference to daisy 3 with TOC.
In addition they responded to a question I had on the long delay in getting
new versions out, the last update was in June of 2011.
From April 16, 2012
Quote begins:
We are working on testing and fixing up bugs of the new features of the up
coming release which will be available in a month or two.

We've resolved some performance issue which is complicated and takes quite a
while to fix.

InDaisy supports Full Audio with TOC that is in Daisy 2.02 and Daisy 3
format. It can change the playback speed without changing the pitch. It can
play MP3/AAC/ALAC/OGG/FLAC and more. If you are in doubt, you can send us a
copy of the book you wish to read and we can test it out for you in-house.
Quote ends:
I did in fact send them a test book but they never replied with test
results.
I purchased the app anyway since I was interested in trying it next to other
similar apps.
The results were less than exciting.
First of course the books I build don't play at all.
Second when I tryed to download a book from Bookshare the app crashed.
After the crash it was impossible to restart the app on the iPhone 4S
running 5.1.1.
I restarted the phone but the app would no longer launch at all.
It just returned me to the home screen of the phone.
Finally I removed In Daisy from the phone by deleting the app and then
installing it again from iTunes.
Not a positive experience in any way.
As is the case with other reading apps such as Bleo navigation is easy and
the minor differences in interfaces can be learned.
These apps are designed for blind users so everything talks.
Again as I have commented in other areas on the forums the voice options for
reading are still frustrating.
I can live with the Acapela voices but limiting the choices to the two US
voices is silly.
In addition if I could use the default Voice Over voices I probably would
most of the time.
However the pause for page change that is evident in all of the reading apps
I have tried makes long reads jerky.
It seems to me that in speaking to other users who have purchased most of
the daisy reading apps I don't think anyone is completely satisfied with any
of them.
The major daisy reading apps currently in the app store are all old and
several have not been updated for over a year.
In part I suspect this is due to the small volume of sales.
I have exchanged several messages with the developers of Voice of Daisy in
Japan and they too have been promising a new release since last fall.
In their favor however is the fact that they have a free demo version so you
don't have to drop $25.00 for an app that you find doesn't work the way you
expected.

Someone recommended InDaisy (from the App Store) for this. I've just
purchased it, a couple of days back, but haven't yet got round to doing any
serious reading with it. You may like to givef it a try.
