Hi Dennis.

I know exactly what you mean, considering even the 10.1 inch netbooks to be too large, I'm currently packing an 8.9 inch zoostorm machine. Zoostorm are a british company who specialise in laptops and netbooks for budget users and children, however the Freedom netbook is one of the best netbooks that they've produced and I'm absolutely loving it. Firstly the best part, one can be had for under £200 which if one is looking for a computer shouldn't even stretch the most modest of purse strings. It has an Intel Atom 1.6 GHZ processor, 160GB hard drive, 1GB DDR2 memory, integrated 83 key keyboard, touchpad and sound system and wired and wireless N networking. You also get a web camera for video confrencing. This is almost identicle to the N120 netbook you have there, just at almost a third of the price less. The only thing I would say though is that the battery offers up a modest 3.5 hours battery life, however by dimming the display and tweeking a few other settings, I've managed to get mine to pump out an additional 45 minutes or so. If you are at all interested, I know where one can be had for considerably less than the retail price so please don't hesitate to email me privately.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] Recommendations - Lightweight Notebook Computers

Hello All,
Could anyone with experience of notebooks weighing a few pounds please
recommend one?
I possess a Samsung N120 and like it a lot but it is still too heavy for me
to tote around and use on the lap for long.
Presumably you have to sacrifice hard disk memory for the lower weight?
Memory is important as I am a user of a number of client software programmes
and Jaws etc. I would like a notebook to ensure the keys are large enough.
Regards,
Denis
