Hi Catherine.
You should always get Microsoft product downloads directly from the download
centre at http://download.microsoft.com. Search for security essentials in
the search downloads box, literally the first result will yield the correct
download. That way, you can also download the correct version of the
product as there are different released for Vista and windows 7, 32 and 64
bit operating systems as well as XP.
