HI George

Thanks for that.

OK - I was just assuming it was JAWS.

I've never seen the SmartStamp software, but I know that it was previously
seen as a good alternative to franking, but it sounds like that's no longer
the case!!

Hi Theresa,

I don't actually believe the speed matter is a JAWS issue.
We use it a lot too for checking Post Codes, and it's not as
fast as it was. Perhaps it's simply consumer demand, who
knows?

In addition, they upgraded their SmartStamp software, and
that has degraded to such a point that it is no longer
usable for even a couple of dozen stamps without waiting an
age.

George.

Subject: [access-uk] Royal Mail Website

HI All
I have tried from time to time to use the Royal Mail
website, both for looking up postcodes and for buying
stamps. In the past I have got on reasonably well searching
for postcodes, but over the last few months when I have
tried using the site for both purposes, it's been painfully
slow with JAWS.

When I was trying to register and buy stamps online (I
already had an account number), it was so slow that I
eventually gave up and ordered over the phone!

When searching for postcodes over the last couple of weeks,
I've entered information into a field and then pressed the
Tab key to go to the next field,, and JAWS has taken ages
to catch up and even read the information I've just entered.
Also, if I've pressed Insert and F7 to bring up the list of
links on the page, this has taken a painfully long time to
happen.

Does anyone else have any experience of using the Royal Mail
website with JAWS?
