Hi. I've noticed that Channel 5 can be a bit dodgy sometimes if you have =
selected AD in your Sky menu.

I think this is because they don't pay great attention to what they put o=
n their broadcast digibeta tapes.=20

I've noticed that channel 5 doesn't seem to keep to the important convent=
ion or industry standard in terms of what audio they put on the AD track.=
If someone has put extra audio or allowed sound to bleed onto the track =
used for AD then anyone who has AD selected on their digibox at home will=
 hear it.=20

Sometimes I've heard the most appalling audio from Five. So, if you hear =
a show that doesn't sound as if it has been mixed very wel - e.g. the pre=
senter's voice is a lot quieter than the background music that sounds mor=
e like foreground music - it's cos Five aren't taking care and haven't qu=
ite cottoned on how important it is to keep those channels clear.

Well, it's something like that anyway.

Hi Trace.

No it was dry for once. I checked 5 again today and it's just the same.=20=

Incidentally, I telephoned SKY to book an engineer about an hour ago and =
was told that it was not possible to arrange a visit until March.

I mainly watch AD movies on 5 as there are very few of these on any of th=
e other channels, and I pay =A325 a month for that. I decided to unsubsc=
ribe from SKY and phoned them back. When I was asked why I wanted to qui=
t SKY I told them that amongst other things, I cannot get an engineer vis=
it until March. The guy told me that his computer had just crashed and v=
olunteered to phone me back. When he came back he said that I could get =
an engineer out anytime this week, morning or afternoon. What do you thi=
nk of that.=20
Anyway, I told him that I was no longer interested and requested that he =
unsubscribe me. So that's me down and out as far as AD movies go. Hope =
I have not cut off my nose to spite my face, hahaha.

Best wishes.
Andy
