Ah Ok then you may want a A4 scanner where you can lie the book flat. Mind you my scanner is slightly smaller than A4 and quite often its not possible to lie books flat on it which means you have to scan each page separately.

If you have the money and want a scanner to last a while I'd sware by an A3.

When you say fairly large documents are we talking many pages or large
pages? I've been using an Epson A3 GT10000 scanner since 1999, never had a
problem with it and its ideal for larger books and papers. Mind you it was
£695 when I bought it and it weighs a ton.

Hi, would be grateful for any advice on this because I've not used a
scanner
for years. I'm going to need one now though, and am after something that
can

handle print from books, press releases, and clear photo copies of fairly
large documents. I'm planning to get K1000 and someone has told me that
the

Epson V100 scanner should be up to the task. If anyone has a better
suggestion for a scanner or package that might be better, I'd love to hear
it.thanks

very much
