In that case operating system doesn't matter. I also know an XP user using
JAWS 6 who had this sudden problem. Luckily the authorization returned but
don't know how.

It has happened to me quite a lot under Vista! All works fine for ages, then
for seemingly no reason, JFW tells me it is running in 40 minute mode, and
that I need to reboot, and when I do, I get asked to enter my authorization
key, this usually fixes the problem for a while, until it happens again!
