Yes but it's  worth  remembering that even if the employer does have
insurance, it will come down to  did the employee have the employer's
permission to  take the  equipment away from the employer's site.

Just as a sighted  member of staff has no automatic right to take his or her
tools  away  from the office,  blind  people also don't have an automatic
right  either. It would depend on what the person's job is, what their
contract says regarding responsibility and care of equipment that is taken
away off site.
