Hi carol, Well, to be perfectly honest I cheat, smile.I use my MW in conjunction with my Cobolt talking clock calendar. That is, I select the minutes etc on the talking timer and then start the MW. I don't use my MW for cooking meals etc. I tend to use it to heat stuff up, soup or the remains of a meal that's gone cold whatever. I much prefer to cook using a conventional gas oven, or in my case with propain gas as we don't have mains gas in our far flung village.

So how do you get on with the minutes, Jim? Have you been able to mark them accurately, or does the dial have little notches that you feel as you turn it round?Carol P----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim McAuslan" <jimmcauslan1@xxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 11, 2015 3:53 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Talking Microwaves All,Hi Jackie, Carol et al,I have the same type of machine with a power control and a timer. I think it cost me £40 from Asda and I've had it about 3 years., smile.I had a bad experience with the last Cobolt talking MW and I think the price is a complete rip.Just my twopence worth, smile. One allows you to turn it to however many minutes you want, and the other dial is for varying the power. Both dials are mechanical and have points on them which you can feel. It only cost £60, but it does what we need for heating up porridge etc. My Cobolt microwave didn't last that long for the little use it had,and I prefer this model as it is nice and quiet without all the chatterfirst thing in the morning! (smile). If you are in the market for somethingthat basic, I'll get the model for you, I can't remember offhand. Anyone out there found anything they're using with beeps,or just the old dialer that you have to time individually?
