Greetings, Bearing in mind the discussions lately of JFW's 20th birthday, perhaps the subject this week is now most appropriate. From: "Chrissie Cochrane" <chrissie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat, 31 Jan 2015 09:15:27 -0000 On this week's program we ask the question are the major screenreaders, both JAWS and Window-Eyes reaching the end of their ability to develop further? Are they now putting out new releases simply to bring in more money? Also as computer programs get more and more integrated and complex are we seeing more problems than solutions: for example both with JAWS 16 and Window-eyes 9 many people are finding that things just don't work as they used to: a new feature is integrated into the software and another feature is broken. Will the current models be sustainable or should there be an entirely new approach to screenreading software? On a lighter note, why do you like one of the major screenreaders in preference to the other, and is the room in the market for a totally new screenreader and what would you like to see it be able to do? You can participate in the show, which airs Sunday at 18:00 UTC, that's 1 pm Eastern, 10 am Pacific in North America, 6 pm in the UK and 7 pm in Central Europe, by Skype at the.global.voice; by email at yourvoice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or by Twitter @theglobalvoice. That's this week's Attitude Test looking at the future of screenreading software.
