Hi Everyone

Please bear with me while I try to explain a query I have with Windows Mail
using Vista Home Premium.

When I add contacts to my address book on my desktop PC, using XP Home, I
always make regular backups and import the address book to the Windows Contacts
on my laptop, which runs Vista Home Premium. But I have discovered quite by
chance that when I empty the Windows Contacts on the laptop ready to import a
freshly backed up file from my XP machine, I am still able to complete Email
addresses for all recipients, even when there is no address book imported into
Vista.

Where then is Vista storing any Email addresses I compose, and how can I clear
them out? On XP, if you delete your contacts altogether, any Email address you
use won't pick up the recipient because there is no contact in the book. Not
so on Windows Vista if you delete the book ready to import a fresh one? How
come?

And even if I send an Email using the laptop to someone who is not in my
contacts book, it still remembers that person, despite their details not being
added automatically?

On XP, I use Outlook Express, and the equivalent Windows Mail on the laptop. I
also have Office 2003 Professional on both machines, and the Outlook address
book is empty on both.

Hope this makes sense.

Many thanks.

Jackie
