Hi all.

I'm getting very closed to having to make a decision on a new computer and again, I am presented with a dilemma . Which OS to get!.

I just love XP Home but believe that this is not going to be supported after 2008, so I need to choose between VISTA, or XP Media Center computers.

I have JAWS Professional version 8 and intend to upgrade to version 9, so neither should present too many access issues for me.

I like Packard Bell computers and indeed, have purchased three of them in the past. I've been told that Hewlett Packard is another good brand, so I'll probably go for either of these.

I use my computer, quite a lot for recording BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio 2 shows as well as burning this material, using either Easy CD creator or Nero onto CD or DVD's . I also like to use a SoundBlaster External Sound Card, to attach my computer to an AV unit. Other items, such as the Zoom Recorder and Olympus DS50 as well as External Hard Drives, are all regular visitors to my computer.

I have been told that VISTA will not allow me to use many of these items, so if this is the case, then I'll go for the Media Center operating system.

Can anyone please let me know if any of my above tasks would be limited or prohibited by VISTA please.

Still very much seeking a recommendation from more experienced users into brand and type of computer.

Looking forward to a full in-box, hahaha.

Andy.
