Hi AndyThe Synaptics Pointing Device is to do with your mouse, not Norton as in Symantec. Don't know much about the mouse thing though I have to say since I never use it.
I agree though that these big companies have struck up a deal to supply Norton. In fact, it's likely Microsoft has as it seems to be in Vista altogether.

Hi Jackie -I uninstalled it immediately too, but I still seem to have something calledSynamtech pointing device or something, in my system tray, and under myprogrammes folder.
